Legal basis

§ 119. (1) The Science Council shall be a federal institution. It shall be subject to ministerial supervision in accordance with § 45.

(2) The functions of the Science Council shall be:

1.advising the Federal Minister, the legislature and the universities on university matters and on questions of science policy and the arts;

2.monitoring and analysing the Austrian higher education and research system, having regard to European and international trends, and formulating proposals for its further development.

(3) The resolutions, pronouncements and recommendations of the Science Council shall be published.
